This 4X4 was in the perfect spot. Had to do a quick snapshot.
Was at the Encinitas skate park and this dude was shredding.
If you've been to Palm Springs you have seen the hundreds of wind turbines that dot the desert floor. I like that I was able to make this photo look like an illustrated postcard .
Encinitas is like a Paradise. I was leaving Swamis and saw this row of palm trees standing watch over the meditation center.

There are many interesting sightings in DTLA. Add this to the list.
We definitely don't get much free parking in LA or Orange County. I did a double take when I saw this sign.
I don't gig any more. I used to be a hip hop / r&b drummer. I gigged in Tokyo, LA, Austin, blah blah blah. Those days are behind me now. Now I love to sit in sessions more centered around Malinke or Cuban patterns. It's hypnotic and people truly enjoy playing it. Beach goers love it too.
Our sessions are less drum circle and more "session". I say that because it's not a free for all. Some drum circles in LA and OC can get like that. Those are fun for people that just want to play loudly and have fun. Our sessions have complex layers and are geared to be free and organized at the same time. Below are a few quick recordings of some impromptu jams we did this past weekend.
This is the second video from the session on April 3, 2016 at sunset. Below Bluff Park in Alamitos Beach (Long Beach, CA) there are two possible groups that join to play drums. This group was primarily a latin groove group. Some guys joined to give it more of an African groove.

No shortage of classic trucks and cars in Alamitos Beach.
